Well, after several months of debating, pondering and procrastinating… I’ve finally decided to start up my mountain biking blog. This mtb blog is something I’ve wanted to do for many years now.. I just never could come up with the right domain name and the motivation to do it. The lack in motivation stemmed from where we were living.. and probably is an important chapter of my life. But we’re here to talk about mountain biking not to do a clinical review of my sorry ass.

First.. I’ll introduce myself. I’m Sammy I’m currently 35 years young and I’ve been mountain biking since 1994. More importantly I’ve been infatuated with bicycles since I was 4yrs old (at least that’s the furthest I have memories).  I’m married to my lovely wife Carrie (who also mountain bikes occasionally) and together we have 3 wonderful kids.  I’m self employed… I am Search Friendly Web Design.

That’s me in the picture… posing with a timer on top of Spring Peak on the Ridgeline Trail in Eugene, OR. Oh.. I forgot to mention… I live in Eugene… we moved here in Novemeber. Previous to my arrival in MTB Paradice, I spent 4 very long years in Tehachapi, CA. only getting to go on 1 single track ride in that time  and it was at the end of our prison sentence.. I don’t mean that litterally (Tehachapi has a well known Corrections Facility).

Currently I’m riding an old GT iDrive that my wife gave me. I just upgraded to disc brakes… BB7’s to be exact. Out of the game for 4 years and now everyone has disc brakes WTF. In the winter I ride my old trusty Trek 6500 hardtail which I converted to a single speed this year after riding a couple of times in the Oregon muck. I have an old friend.. Eric Voosen, who rode a single speed sometimes for training… I thought he was nutz. I get to Oregon and almost everyone here rides a single speed in the winter.

So enough about me. Welcome again to my mountain bike blog and we’ll see what kind of fun we can have.  I have, what I think are great plans for a fun mountaining blog… I’ve been making a list and right now the content is expected to include but is not limited…  mountain biking, trails, tips, gear, bikes, saftety, mtb news and hopefully a lot more.

And before you go.. be sure to subscribe to the RSS Feed.
